Bloomington Aikido is pleased to announce that we will be hosting John Messores Shihan from April 7-19, 2026. Aikido students of all affiliations and experience levels are welcome!

John Messores holds the rank of nanadan (7th degree black belt) in Aikido. He is one of the most senior instructors in the Aikido Schools of Ueshiba organization, and among the highest ranked Americans affiliated with Aikido Hombu (Aikido world headquarters).

Seminar Training Sessions:

Friday April 17: 6:30pm – 8:30pm

Saturday April 18: 10:00am – 12:00pm and 3:00pm – 5:00pm

Sunday April 19: 10:00am – 12:00pm

Cost:

Non-students: $120 for full or $40/class

Students: $60 for full or $20/class

Location:

Indiana University campus, Gym 169, School of Public Health Bldg. at 1025 E. 7th Street, Bloomington, IN 47405. (Connected to the Bill Garret Fieldhouse.)

Parking:

Free street parking is available 1 block from the training facility on 8th St, 9th St, Fess St and Park St.

Paid parking is available at the University lot on the west side of the training facility as well as at other parking garages nearby.

Saturday, April 18 : Lunch: 12pm – 3pm Downtown Bloomington; Dinner 6pm TBD

Sunday April 19: Lunch: 1pm Downtown Bloomington
